low-pressure systems suck

Not only because they make for lousy weekend weather, but because they always always always trip my migraine switch and I spend days wilting under the excruciating pain in my skull.

BAH!

I found this meme of sorts at the adorable Poppy's place and couldn't resist. I'm always looking to discover fabulous new (for me) music and books...they're the perfect antidote to lousy weekend weather.

Play with me! It's raining! I'm bored! My head hurts! Woot!

1. Recommend to me a movie, book, song, album, or musician - (one or all...i have the time...it's raining after all!)
2. Ask me three questions - (i'll answer 'em, i promise!)
3. Post this on your blog so we can reciprocate - (unless you don't wanna, of course)

And on a completely unrelated note, has anybody seen Lady in the Water yet? I'm going tonight with some beloved people and after Unbreakable I just don't know what I think of M. Night Shyamalan.

Meh.

Now. Where's the Imitrex injection?

Yes, I've had my eye on my oldest daughter for the past few weeks. Low pressure systems send her migraines into a tailspin. Luckily...cross fingers.

I don't have any real good recommendations. Hmmmm...have you seen the movie Whale Rider? It's fairly kid friendly except for the word "dick".

And you hat a bat episode, too?! That's very weird! It is birthing seasons, I think, and a lot of young bats getting lost or figuring out how to not fly into houses. But yeah, doesn't make me feel any better about such close contact.

I haven't seen that movie. I don't think I've even heard of it. I'll check it out!

Frickin' bat. I almost felt bad for it. It was tiny, obviously a baby, and it was squeaking pitifully. Then the mutt tried to snarf it down and I stopped feeling bad...then all I felt was OMIGAWD THE DOG IS EATING RABIES!!!

Stoopid mutt.

What do they give Prima for her headaches? Is she too young for Imitrex? Poor baby.

First, you neglected to inform me of your migranous status. You know I can fix that.

My book recommendation, since you know I never ever get to see the flicks: Mistress of Spices by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. It's the most captivating tale...profoundly sensual in the most delicate of ways. She's an amazing wordsmith - vivid images and vibrant characters...I swear you can almost smell this book. I'm working on the sequel now.

My questions:

1. What are some of the things you've accomplished in your life that are *important* things?

2. How often do you look in your soul's mirror and go "damn, I rock!"?

3. What color will our beemer be?

:D

My head, it is better. Merci buttercups, baybee. You very much rock out loud.

You asked...I said I'd answer... :)

1. Important? Um. yeah. Uh. Okay. I saved somebody once, from himself. That was important to *me* but I don't think anybody else would call it that.

2. Pretty much never...I do think "Damn, I'm goat old!" frequently, though.

3. Silver, baybee. Shiny.

my ?s:
1. did you like Lady in the Water?

3. if you could only have one wish right this second, what would you wish for?

Ms. Jouette! Hi! *mwah*

Dark comedies are always a favorite. :) Thanks!

1) Lady in the Water. Yeah. Wait for the DVD. Meh.

2) M. Night Shyamalan has abundant talent. Almost as abundant as his ego. WHY does he cast himself in his movies? He writes. He has beautiful vision and a brilliant imagination. Dude can't act to save his life.

3) Right this second I wish for a gigunda cup of caffeineated butterscotch coffee and a cigarette, but since I gave up caffeine last year and cigarettes when Lemony Teen was still a bean, I'll settle for world peace and a President with a brain.

:)
